Grace Lutheran Church
Join us for worship!
Christ Centered. Community Caring. Committed to Discipleship.
From Interim Senior Pastor Scott Olson on Gathering in Person at Grace:
"'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'" (Matthew 22: 37-39)
Since the outbreak of COVID-19 this passage has guided the actions of your leadership. We have found creative ways to love God with our whole beings while being unable to gather in person. Similarly, we continue to love our neighbor as we continue God's mission and ministry through Grace. We may be "scattered" but we are not "shattered." We are church in the world.
In like manner, these verses have guided us as we consider gathering in person for worship and other ministries. In our endeavor to "love our neighbor," we have been cautious about reopening as we consider the impact on our "littles" in Grace Garden. Also, we wanted to make sure that technologically we'd be able to provide continued online presence for those who couldn't or didn't feel safe about coming to Grace. Finally, we wanted to cull the best recommendations from reliable health agencies and the best practices from other congregations who are discerning reopening as we are. We know that we can't guarantee your safety, but we want to make Grace as safe as possible.
I'm pleased to say we have done just that.
Through the hard work of the Reopen Safely Team and approval of the Church Council, I'm delighted to announce that in-person worship will begin Sunday, October 25. (Please see more detailed information below.) We will begin slowly with worship services on Sundays only and as we live into Sunday worship (and monitor the progress of COVID-19) we'll gradually add in other activities. More specific information will follow in subsequent E-News editions.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we all live out the Greatest Commandments. Please contact me, Pastor Paige, or Council President Randy Raub if you have any questions.
In Christ's Love,
Pastor Scott Olson

Greetings Grace Members and Friends!
On October 25 Grace will gather in person for worship again. There are three important things to note as we prepare for this:
RSVP REQUIRED: To care for our neighbor, attendees will be REQUIRED to reserve a spot for worship each Sunday. We are not able to sit as close as usual, so this is critical to reopening. You/your household can reserve a spot at this link for upcoming worship services: https://reopen.church/r/0V9ehMpg (If there are spots available, we can seat those who arrive on Sunday and have not RSVP'd. To help our ushers, we ask you to RSVP by the Friday before each service.)
When we gather in the building, masks and distancing by household will also be required. Our ushers will be glad to give you a mask if you need one. And they look forward to safely welcoming you back. We will share more details about what it will look like to enter/depart from the church building.
Worship will look and feel different but we'll still be together to worship God. (We'll be listening to music instead of singing, communion will be distributed as you depart, you can greet those around you with smiling eyes and a wave ... but at this time we can't be physically near each other inside the building, and other changes not known or named.) We practice all these things so that we can do our best to love our neighbor and keep the building open. We thank you for walking with us in these times.
The Grace Staff, Grace Council, Grace Ministry Teams, and the Safely Reopeninng Team join with you in giving thanks for this next step!
P.S. We will continue to live stream our worship online. So you'll still be able to also worship with us in that way.
Thank you for visiting our website!
Come as you are to worship and share the good news that we all, as children of God, are forgiven and given new life through the life, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Our weekly worship services are open to all and begin at 9:00 am each Sunday.
Faith Formation meets Wednesdays at 5:45 pm and is open to all kids pre-Kindergarten to 6th grade. Let us know if you're interested in helping!
The weekly Sunday services are broadcast Sundays at 11:00 am and Mondays at 5:00 pm on Waseca's Public Access channel 8.
