Sunday School:
Weekly Lessons in God's Word

At Grace Lutheran Church, we use new curriculum published and produced by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America called SPARK. With SPARK, kids will open their Bibles each week and engage in Scripture and we will be able to watch them grow in their faith by encountering God’s Word while participating in activities that reinforce the Bible stories. SPARK lessons are designed to engage every child in active learning!

Age-appropriate lessons designed for multiple intelligences reinforce key points of the stories and help kids get more out of Sunday school, no matter what their learning style may be.

We also use a rotation model for Sunday school. The rotation model provides 6 workshop rotation options for each Bible story. In this model, kids spend more than one week on a Bible story and visit a different workshop each week in order to experience that same story with different perspectives. Hopefully this will allow students to have the opportunity to more fully comprehend the Bible story.

Each workshop rotation for kids in Kindergarten to Grade 6 is focused on a rich Bible story or group of Bible stories about particular characters. Workshop rotations will include some of the following: Art, Bible Skills and Games, Computer Lab, Cooking, Creative Drama, Music, Science, and Video. Our preschooler students will also experience an in-room rotation with multiple stations.

Please fill out the Sunday School Form to register for Sunday School. The information needs to be completed for each student you wish to register for Sunday School.

A $10 registration fee per student is needed to cover costs for curriculum and supplies. There is a $40 cap per family.

Discipline Policy

We are committed to providing an environment in which all children can learn. A part of that commitment involves disciplining a student whose behavior disrupts other members of the class. If a student misbehaves, a teacher will do the following:

  • Warn the student that a second disruption will result in the student being asked to leave the class.
  • The student will be sent to the SS SUperintendent's office to call parents
  • Parents will need to come to teh SS Superintendent's office to pick up the student.
  • The student is welcome to return the following Sunday/Wednesday if behavior is not disruptive
  • If disruptive behavior continues, the parents, student, teacher and pastor will meet to discuss action.
