Food Shelf:
Community Comes Together

In response to both the current state of our economy and the recent rash of people who are losing their jobs, the Grace Lutheran Food Shelf was started in April of 2009.

This ministry of the church will be used to help meet the needs of the people from our congregation and from the wider community of Waseca (through supplementing the efforts of the Neighborhood Service Center).

We will not be hiring any additional staff to run this ministry –
we plan to make a go of it by utilizing volunteers.

The Food Shelf is currently open
Thursday evenings from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
and is staffed by volunteers.

Please let the church office know if you would like to volunteer one Thursday afternoon a month at the food shelf.  (A number of you have already spoken to Pastor Dan about volunteering, and he will contact you soon.)  We will also create a substitute list, so that will be another way to volunteer on a less regular basis.

This Food Shelf ministry will be a work-in-progress as we work out the kinks and discover what works best.  We thank you for your prayers and support.

If you have any questions, please contact the church office.
